People have asked why I named this site, “Lazy Girl Travel.” Their initial impression was that I must be lazy. But nothing could be further from the truth. I’m not one to sit around for too long before I’m ready to go again! So let’s dive into what it means, why it matters, and how it changes the way we explore the world.

β€œLazy” Isn’t What You Think

No, “lazy” doesn’t mean you hop on a plane only to stay in bed your entire trip eating chips (Unless that’s your goal, of course. No judgement here!)

In this case, “lazy” does not equal unmotivated. Lazy is easy. Not apathy. It’s about intuitive living, not burnout travel. It’s a soft power that recharges your soul.

Lazy Girl Travel is a gentle, soul-led approach to travel that puts pleasure before pressure. It’s the slow travel lifestyle at it’s best.

It’s not about doing nothing. It’s about doing what feels right. It’s knowing you have nothing to prove here. All you have to do is find the romance of it and dive in.

What Lazy Girl Travel Looks Like

Picture this: The sun slowly rises, gently caressing your face with its warmth through your bedroom window. There is no alarm, and no 10-point itinerary for the day. It’s just you, the sunrise, and at some point… a warm cup of coffee or tea to start your day along with a deliciously luxurious breakfast you can eat with your fingers.

Once you’re up and around, you leave the place you are staying without anywhere you have to be. You wander gorgeous alleyways, sit a little too long in a local cafe, and maybe write in a beautiful journal you picked up at a little shop around the corner as you sip your cappuccino and indulge in a croissant.

As you wander some more, you take photos with your iPhone for feeling, not perfection. This isn’t about Instagram. You just want to remember each moment when you get back home. You choose charm over luxury, stillness over structure, and beauty over busyness. You find yourself unexpectedly exploring open markets while you munch on fresh berries, and wander endless beaches in your bare feet. None of it planned β€” all of it an intimate and unforgettable experience of the senses. A romance you can’t seem to find anywhere else.

And yes, you can skip that museum, wear the same dress every day, and wander without a plan. It’s all beautiful, and it’s all travel on your terms. It’s the slow travel lifestyle, and it’s a good one.

Doesn’t travel without an itinerary sound good?

Who Is Lazy Girl Travel For?

  1. Lazy Girl Travel is a romantic travel style for the person who’s tired of overthinking every trip detail weeks and even months before you leave.
  2. Lazy Girl Travel is for the person who wants to feel beautiful while traveling, without performing, just experiencing the romance of life.
  3. Lazy Girl Travel is for solo travelers, late bloomers, romantic daydreamers, and burned-out perfectionists. It’s for experiencing “emotional travel”, or “soft life travel.” And yes, it’s the perfect travel style for introverts too!

How Is Lazy Girl Travel Different From Traditional Travel?

Lazy Girl Travel is basically, “no checklist tourism.” There’s typically no matching luggage, no pressure to “do it all.” It’s more about the emotional richness of a place than making sure you see every last thing there is to see. It’s not about rushing around and wearing yourself out so you can tell everyone you saw everything, it’s about selecting or accidentally stumbling upon a few select experiences that will actually enrich your life and your experience, regardless of where you travel to.

So yes, you might take fewer photos, or buy fewer souvenirs. But the photos you do take and the items you do purchase, have real meaning. They move your soul instead of filling in a checklist box. It’s more about healing your soul than achieving a complete to-do list.

Why Does Lazy Girl Travel Matter?

It matters because it makes travel way more accessible to real, everyday women (and yes, men too!). Whether you’re an introvert, mom, a late bloomer, or you have limited funds or energy, Lazy Girl Travel will help turn a random vacation into a lifelong memory you’ll never forget. It heals, softens, and returns you to yourself. Because travel doesn’t have to be a flex. It can be a slow, sensual act of reclamation. It can change you, stir your soul and expand your mind. After all, isn’t that what travel is supposed to do?

What Lazy Girl Travel Has Taught Me

One thing that Lazy Girl Travel has taught me is the art of slowing down. There are many cultures and countries where rushing is a way of life. In fact, the States may arguably be one of the worst when it comes to the glorification of being busy. Lazy Girl Travel has slowed me down to a pace where I can actually enjoy my life. The hustle is gone from my life and I couldn’t be happier about it.

The second thing Lazy Girl Travel has taught me is that I can absolutely romance my life no matter where I live. I can appreciate the small things so much more. I appreciate individual moments now. Whether it’s a long coffee meetup with a friend that lasts for hours without us even realizing it, or a slow and relaxing few hours at the beach. I actually feel each moment. Let each one sink into my soul and embed itself in my memory. It has enriched my life in so many ways and with so many memories.

I invite you to try it! Buy those plane tickets, reserve that hotel room, and then do no other planning. Wander the streets, explore without knowing where you are (knowing you can always call an Uber or taxi to get you back to your room), try restaurants you wander across, stop at a bakery you didn’t know was there, try a dish or dessert you’ve never tried before, and settle into each moment. Commit it to memory. Let it change you from the inside out, because travel definitely does that.

Wherever you are… slow down. Light that candle. Take that detour. Turn that corner. Try that food. You only get to experience this once, even if you visit twice. Try it all.

I hope this has inspired you to travel the Lazy Girl Travel way. I firmly believe it’s one of the best ways to travel and truly experience life. It’s one of the best ways to truly feel alive.

I help brands and boutique hotels bring this dreamy, emotional energy into their visuals β€” because travel should feel like this for everyone.
